My dad has dementia and doesn't know me anymore he's only 65 I worry so much about getting it myself I wrote this for my children who are 2 and 3 as I think I'd love to have had something like this for my dad.
I won’t forget
If the day comes that I don’t know you’re name
Please don’t think you are to blame
I remember your first laugh, smile and walk
The first time you were able to talk
At the moment you are a baby tucked up In bed
You fill every thought in my head
If there comes a day when I don’t remember you
It’s not true
I remember you shouting for me when you couldn’t sleep
And all the secrets I promised to keep
For the Dances we have in the kitchen for fun
And when you tell me I am the most beautiful mum .
Our life hasn’t really started yet
I promise I won’t really forget.
