Hi,
Mum has been diagnosed with dementia coming up on 2 years now, she seemed to be at the same stage for a long time and it didnt seem like it was progressing that bad, but over the last few months we have noticed a decline, more withdrawn, lost interest in things she would have loved (like reading or watching a film) and lately she's been having a lot more falls. She had one last week that was fairly bad and was taken to get checked over by gp. Had a phone call today to say it looks like she has diabetes. Is this something that is common with dementia patients? She has no appetite at all, and we have to make sure she eats something during the day otherwise she wouldn't eat at all, either from not being hungry or not remembering to. She has always been slim so no weight issues, I'm just surprised at this I suppose.
