This might be a long shot. My Dad has been my mums carer for around 5 years, she moved into a nursing home at the end of August. He is a positive person and I think he will be ok, but he is very sad and doesn't want to talk to anyone (except me and my sister, which is good).

I just wondered if there were any books to make him feel less alone, maybe other carers experiences....

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I'm sorry to hear this @headspin10

I'm not sure if it quite fits the bill but there is a book called 'and still the music plays' which is about people with dementia and is supposed to be helpful for their carers.

@rainbowninja Thank you so much! That looks just the thing. He can dip into it if he feels like it. Looks pretty accessible. Thanks again. ♥️

No problem at all, I bought it a few years back when my Grandad was diagnosed with dementia so thought of it immediately when I saw your post x

Not quite what you've asked for @headspin10 but we bought DFIL A Del of a Life last Christmas after being recommended it. DMIL had been in a care home for about 6 months at the time.

It had rather a transformative effect. He now going to a couple of groups and has done a walking challenge.

Might be worth getting him as a stocking filler this Christmas Xmas Smile
