My 79 year old mother has vascular dementia and was admitted into hospital yesterday. She was having difficulty breathing, nursing home phoned for an ambulance at 11.00 am with one eventually turning up at 3.15pm. Mum didn’t want to go to hospital, but the paramedics finally persuaded her to go. She was triaged very quickly by a nurse in the back of an ambulance and was seen by a doctor at 7.20pm who decided to admit mum. Fast forward to now and my poor mum is still in
A&E waiting for a bed. As you can imagine, I am sick with worry and it’s so difficult getting any information over the phone.
