Hi. Does anyone know what the guidance is for carers (not in care homes) about wearing PPE from 19th July? Thanks

I suppose it depends on what their employer wants them to do.

DMIL is in care home and I know that they are continuing with masks.

I'm hoping my parent's carers continue with masks. Thanks for your reply.

Did you manage to find out @sundaysnoozer?

sundaysnoozer · 20/07/2021 17:17

I haven't heard about the official policy yet. My parent gets confused so I can't really get a straight answer.

That's a shame. Do you have any sort of camera set up at their's or could you schedule a visit to coincide with a visit from a Carer?

I work as a Manager in domiciliary care and the guidance for PPE is the same. There was an update on 19/07 but that only related to clarifying types of masks so you shouldn’t see any difference with what your parent’s carers are wearing. The guidance is here if it helps:

www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-how-to-work-safely-in-domiciliary-care/personal-protective-equipment-ppe-resource-for-care-workers-delivering-domiciliary-care-during-sustained-covid-19-transmission-in-england

Hi. Thanks very much! I had googled the government advice but for some reason couldn't get my head round it.
