My mum has dementia and Altzheimers. Used to be a big reader, then just the paper now that seems to be losing interest. She has recently enjoyed colouring garden themed pictures.....

She seems happier when doing activities. She's creative but words and processes are very difficult for her. Any suggestions for other activities would be really appreciated. ❤️

My mum had dementia the one thing she loved was music. If we put on any song she could sing every word by this time she didn't recognize any members of her family but she would sing with a massive smile on her face. Sometimes when she was unsettled I would put the music on and we would dance around the living room🤣🤣
I had a jar of coins in my house I would empty it on to the table and she would spent hours putting the coins in piles.
Dementia is heartbreaking to deal with.

Thanks so much for the reply ❤️. Music is a great idea. There is so much music she loves. I think the coin thing might work actually too, as I feel like she wants to be useful and achieve things- she was always very busy. Thanks again, sorry you've experienced this too.

Hi there. My mum has mid stage Alzheimer’s. Discovered she loved large print colour by numbers and jigsaws up to 100 pieces. Also got Alexa so she can listen to her favourite music as she can manage the Alexa command.

Scrapbooking?

My Granny would read old birthday cards and wedding invitations.
