I asked Dad if he knew where the dustpan and brush were, he went out to the garage and brought back a hacksaw, a car sponge and a dusty old TV remote.

Oh dear, he sounds like my mum - she lost expressive and receptive language early on, but also has visual processing issues so she can see things, but her brain can't work out what it is

My DH asked me ”what is all this stuff in the fridge?”. My mum wanted to help unload the shopping so I asked her to put in the things In fridge.
Pack of Dusters, furniture polish, Asprin, plasters, tissues and the salad.
