Should I tell my boyfriend about a brief affair with a friend?

I had an affair. It last 6 weeks and ended this January 2026. It was with a close frind of mine and I have since cut him out of my life. We slep together on 5 occasions. He is also in a relationship and has promised not to tell anyone. My boyfriend is unlikely to find out as no one else knows. Our realtionship is in a good place now but I just cant stop thinking about the affair. Should I confess? We are in our mid 20s and have been together for 7 years no kids.

You don’t love your boyfriend so I’d leave now.

Wow, great basis for a relationship. You should tell BF regardless as you cheated on him, whatever the outcome of that confession may be. HTH?

Is this a serious question??

yes tell him and leave him

he deserves better

You’re mid 20s and have been together for 7 years. So basically you’ve been together since you were teenagers. Kindly, the relationship sounds like it’s run its course. It’s time to move on.

Why did you do it? A bit bored of your bf? Curiosity? A fling before you settle down?

idk why mn gave me this thread! It’s a dead un!

You did the dirty on him, so give him the option!
Tell him, and if he's got any sense he'll bin you. But you should at least give him the option!

OK, so you're in a good place now, but what if you start having problems again and a sympathetic male friend is in the picture again?

The fact that it wasn't a one-off is also a concern.

If you think this sort of behaviour is behind you then that is one thing, but if you're thinking about marriage and/or kids, you need to do the right thing and tell him.
