Realistically, how much do you contribute to chores and parenting responsibilities compared to your wife/girlfriend?

The title says it all really. What is the division of labour like in your household? Is it fair? Do you work more than your wife/girlfriend?
do you partake in hobbies and does she?

When I was with my ex the split varied over time, mostly depending on whether she was working or not. I think I pulled my weight and we both had roughly the same amount of free time.

We are different people and have different preferences. I do about 60% of drop offs and pick ups because my wife works very hard. I do bins and have banned my wife from doing washing, drying and ironing but she still does it sometimes and she does most folding putting away. Dishwasher is 50/50. We have a cleaner. My wife though does a lot more sorting and tidying around the house. She has a lot more energy than me and can’t stand a messy house so she spends a lot of time more time on that.

My wife works a lot harder than I do so I do what I can, cooking dinner etcetera. Neither of us has a great deal of time for hobbies. I try but hard to get the time.

I think it’s a fair split. We make it work!
