I have recently been notified via my children's school about 'Huggy Wuggy'. I find it odd that this has got into our children's playgrounds, but I realise that this does happen sometimes.

However, what has disturbed me more is the companies cashing in and making clothes with Huggy Wuggy on.

Especially pj's, which I find disgusting and shocking. Am I alone in this thinking? Or am I turning into my parents?

What are other peoples thoughts on this?

I'd never heard of Huggy Wuggy so just googled - it's an 'evil' character in a survival type horror game, yes?

From what I can see, it doesn't sound age-appropriate. I understand where you're coming from as it might lead children to investigate further and find something disturbing.

If the clothes are being manufactured or stocked by 'reputable' companies it might be worth complaining. If they're obscure sellers online, probably not a lot you can do.

My kids talk about this character and no I don’t think it’s appropriate but can’t stop them hearing about it though in the play ground etc my kids say the clothes aren’t “official merch” so not sure there’s much that can be done, just seen this www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/uk-news/police-issue-urgent-warning-children-23576424.amp

Anyone with connections to a factory (usually in China) can do this relatively easily. It’s not so much companies and more so individuals who are tuned into to social trends who can produce and turn this stuff around very quickly. Like Tik Tok but in manufacturing.
