Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

For me I look at mens room, relationships, legal and whatsername stuff as I can give advice in some areas there, chat and the AIBU sction in the main. I do avoid certain areas as I know my limits and do not want to be a lamb to the slaughter.
Though to be fair Pan and UQD I have noticed do stick there oar in to stick up for us dads or men whenever male bashing goes on. The case I am thinking of is the Russian guy who had his knob set fire to. I saw the funny side but there was an element of truth in what Pan said if the sexes had been reversed and a man had posted all hell would have broken out.

I find this interesting too, whether the male posters view this as a window on the female psyche (not that I'd argue mumsnet is a representative sample, it isn't) or whether they ignore a lot of it.

WideWebWitch · 30/08/2007 09:42

BigGitDad, did you used to be BigGayDad?
Have you changed so people don't think you're gay?

BigGitDad · 30/08/2007 10:07

NO biggaydad was another poster, well liked by all accounts. It is difficult to choose a name without sounding like someone else. Thought I'd be BGD as I am fairly big, a bit of a git when it comes to parenting and dad speaks for itself.
I wish now I had chosen another name (Like an aircraft as I used to be a saddo about planes when I was younger)
This site is a very good insight on the female pysche and to an extent is what attracts me to it as it very interesting. It is also an excellent parenting forum

UnquietDad · 30/08/2007 12:08

It's pretty much the only parenting forum, isn't it? Until someone succeeds in getting a Dadsnet off the ground. One where the chaps don't feel compelled to talk about golf, cars and stereo configuration every five minutes...

Hurlyburly · 30/08/2007 12:09

UQD - not football?

UnquietDad · 30/08/2007 12:09

Football as well.

lou33 · 30/08/2007 12:13

well i am v definitely not male but i avoid the breastfeeding/ mooncup/ sore nipple/ blw/madeline mccann threads too

DrDaddy · 30/08/2007 12:57

I'm avoiding most threads completely as I seem to spend most of my spare browsing time on Crackbook

HappyDaddy · 30/08/2007 12:59

I look at most, start a fight on some and just roll my eyes at others.

WideWebWitch · 30/08/2007 16:17

Oh ok thanks biggitdad. Iirc it was BigGayDad who referred to his wife as Mrs BigGayDad at a school governor's meeting

zippitippitoes · 30/08/2007 16:21

i used to start lots of intelligent news threads but I kind of stopped and now just seem to talk about sex..not sure if that's me changing or mumsnet changing

I don't do sore nipples either
