Advice re choice of condom

BecauseImWorthIt · 28/01/2007 12:51

This is a question from a friend (honestly!) who is having trouble with her registration:

"I hope to be re-entering the dating field soon and would like to be prepared, but there are loads of different condoms to choose from and I don't want to stand around at Boots reading the packets. Which brand would you recommend? I want to give the impression of being prepared and sensible but not slaggy or wild, and of having a taste for the better things in life (ie NOT Superdrug own label multipack). Thanks guys."

I have seen quite young blokes at the family planning clinic getting all kinds of condoms

guess it's better than them having embarrassing ones that they don't use

look at that new condom (don't know why I found it on the canadian site!)

it looks like a nuclear missile

MichaelDadOfTom · 05/02/2007 10:35

And that is a good message. Lord knows there are enough problems in this country.

I take back what I said about technology. Would not want to risk singing anything. DW would not thank me either. lol.

foxinsocks · 05/02/2007 10:35

the link is to durex, not some porno site in case you didn't want to click on it!

DrDaddy · 09/02/2007 15:23

"Party Hats, with the featherlite touch..." Remember that from the Madness song "Welcome to the House of Fun?" Durex Featherlite is still tops in my opinion...plus Durex Play lube is really cool too
(No, I'm not a Durex rep..)

Catbabydaddy · 18/02/2007 21:41

I always bought whichever ones were on multibuy in Tesco. Didn't like the Durex ones that had a blob of effectively local anasthetic in the tip to slow you down. Can't remember what they were called though.

expatinscotland · 18/02/2007 21:43

I think the Durex Extra Large ones SUCK.

Two of them failed on ex-bf - and I fell pregnant after failed MAP.

DH has also had two of them fail, although luckily we escaped harm.

WideWebWitch · 18/02/2007 21:44

Fuck, I'm a bit concerned about the Mates/Fio being pregnant link too. tell us Fio, were you using them RELIGIOUSLY AND PROPERLY? or you know, something else? Becauase I do not want any more children.

Caligula · 18/02/2007 21:45

I always hated condoms as they made me dry (sorry if TMI) so the only one I could use was a hypo-allergenic one.

expatinscotland · 18/02/2007 21:45

I hate condoms, too, Caligula. Even w/Liquid Silk or AquaLube.

But those Durex Extra Large ones are faulty.

Fio - ribbed.

AitchTwoOh · 19/02/2007 09:55

did the extra large ones fail because he was secretly an extra small? and avanti, i think. you wouldn't have wanted to meet DH the day we discovered he had a latex allergy...

WideWebWitch · 19/02/2007 10:32

Oh thank god for that, so it wasn't a Mates condom failure, it was a drunken no contraception shag? Fantastic, I am most relieved to hear it!

Um, no, Aitch. Definitely not.

And I've been around enough to know .

I don't do small.

fortyplus · 19/02/2007 21:37

Always used Durex - only ever had one split - and no unwanted pregnancies even tho I must be very fertile as I conceived first bonk with both of mine (sorry - tmi I know!)
Personally I prefer the fruity ones - only because they smell so much better than the normal ones! I don't think they have spermicide, though.

Catbabydaddy · 21/02/2007 07:44

I can't be the only person on here who doesn't like using condoms? OK so not hugely different when on, its the getting them on and off that I don't like.

HappyDaddy · 22/02/2007 16:48

Condoms? What are they? (spotty teenage attitude alert)
