driver, I just bought the Bosch IXO cordless model and it is deffo fab.

Small and powerful, but with suitably impressive girth and a nice comfy grip. It should be useful in hard to get at places. £28 at B&Q. Lithium-ion battery (no memory effect) which is nice too.

There. A real, proper bloke conversation.

Bear, wmf, hd, dc - do any of you have this fine beast ?

dont have that one, have the black and decker one which does the job just as good

iamapieceofcheesecake · 07/07/2006 14:25

I agree with all the other women on here, why just the men?
I have a whole cupboard full of tools which I use (would be a shed, but live in a flat). I do most of the diy, mainly because if I waited for dp to do it, well, it would never get done!!

anorak · 07/07/2006 14:28

Aaargh! A piece of cheesecake that does DIY!

Oh well I suppose anoraks owning tools is a bit off the wall really.

desperateSCOUSEwife · 07/07/2006 14:30

cheesecake couldnt of said it better myself

I do all the diy too and love it

iamapieceofcheesecake · 07/07/2006 14:31

Yes anorak, it can get a little messy....

iamapieceofcheesecake · 07/07/2006 14:32

Ooh yes desperateSCOUSEwife, forgot to mention that I do actually enjoy it, it's not because I am being forced to do it. It makes me feel special (especially when dp comments on what a good job i've done....)

desperateSCOUSEwife · 07/07/2006 14:36

nah cheesecake i dont wait for the comments off him
I like it when family and friends come over and say
ooh scousesdh havent you done a good job

I correct them and say ooh that was me who did that
and they give him you know that belittled look
only joking, I do it whilst he works

hub2dee · 07/07/2006 14:39

right then, you tool people, well more of a garden tool needed. a decent strimmer. as cheap as possible.

desperateSCOUSEwife · 07/07/2006 14:40

flower pressing are you taking the piss hub2dee
I have some cutting in to do later

anorak · 07/07/2006 14:41

Sorry dear. I'll go and make you some tea.

hub2dee · 07/07/2006 14:49

Cutting in around glazing is the devil's work. Junctions of walls with ceilings are OK though. Screwfix and B&Q seem to always have cheapish strimmers but I don't know which models are supposed to be any good.

anorak · 07/07/2006 14:51

Don't wanna find out desperate!

HappyDaddy · 07/07/2006 15:30

hub, that does look a tasty tool. shame it's got some smiley bird advertising it, she's probably holding it upside down too.

I don't really know all the different types of tools but I'll happily carry your washing machines out into the garden for you. If you need some heavy lifting that is.

hub2dee · 07/07/2006 20:23

You do that then, HD, I've got a dodgy back from too many years performing for hours on end in the ahem video industry.
