Realistically how many days can you cycle to work?

For an average unfit fair weather cycler?

In East anglia if it makes a difference

Only 2-3 miles each way for me and I cycle almost every day. If it's truly torrential in the morning I may take the bus but don't look at the weather forecast so if it's fine in the morning I take the bike. Keep waterproofs on the bike.
