Can anyone help me with research on this old sketch of the annunciation?

I bought this years ago on Ebay. I just bought it because I really liked the picture.

It's about three feet wide and on some sort of vellum. On the back it says: "A Cartoon for Our Bl. Lady's Oratory, The Circular Hall, Taunton"

It's all very odd - I can't find any records of either an Oratory or a Circular Hall in Taunton.

I've no idea where the sketch is from. It shows the annunciation with Gabriel holding a fleur-de-lis followed by some odd cherubim. Zecharish in the background is being comforted by another angel.

Any art-y types with any thoughts about it?

If you don't get any joy, try asking the same question in the "questions" thread in Heaven, on Ship of Fools???

If you Google for the RC church there you'll find this history. Possibly your picture was originally in one of the convents in the town?

Did you ever find anything out about this?
