Naswm, I don't have cat, and have never used msn (scared emoticon). No-one has ever said I'm funny before - I feel quite touched . Still, I'm on here quite a bit these days!

DumbledoresGirl · 29/01/2009 22:39

Oh Somuchtobits, dont be scared. MSN is easy peasy stuff and naswm and I chat most evenings on it. You would love it.

DumbledoresGirl · 29/01/2009 22:48

Oh scared her off. It must be Naswm she likes, not me.

naswm · 30/01/2009 12:51

DG - you are right about the tune in Where is love? It is basically two lines of music repeated over and over and over and over and over again!

Re the Elvis Presley/hymn thing - I didnt know that in particular, but a lot of 'trad' music is used in 'popular' music, so I am not surprised Elvis did it too! There was that classic 'pop' song a while back which was based on a famous classicial piece of music, so famous now I cant even rememebr what it was!

somuch - get yourself signed up with msn - I did that when I 'met' DG all those moons ago and have never looked back. MSN is like mn, only easier to navigate! And DG and I would love to chat with you, as she says, we talk about -the- -weather- serious stuff most evenings. That is, we do while I still have a pc, it is about to be sent off to the pc hospital for some tlc and I will be laptopless for a week (or so...)

OP posts:
naswm · 30/01/2009 12:53

grrr my strike out didnt work

the weather

OP posts:
DumbledoresGirl · 30/01/2009 13:20

Naswm topless?!

Oh laptopless. Not the same thing at all.

Naswm, I think Elvis got there first in this instance. Be still for the presence of the Lord is not exactly A&M.

naswm · 30/01/2009 13:30

rofl at topless!!!!

re the hymn/Elvis thing - I didnt actually read the hymn title lol

SoMuchToBits · 30/01/2009 14:19

You didn't scare me off DG (and I like you both btw!)- I just got tired and went to bed!

I will have to ask dh about MSN - he is the computer buff in our house. I'll let you know if when I get it sorted

naswm · 30/01/2009 14:23

way to go SoMuch!!!

OP posts:
DumbledoresGirl · 30/01/2009 14:24

You need www.msn.com.

He need never know!

SoMuchToBits · 30/01/2009 14:25

I guess I need to find out about all this modern technlolgy, don't I, so that I don't get left behind by ds when he's a bit older. I don't want to be a luddite of an old Mummy, do I?

DumbledoresGirl · 30/01/2009 14:27

Why not? I am! I was laughed at today for not knowing what a mac is (don't think attire worn by dirty old men, think computer).

But honestly, msn is pretty basic and a lot of fun.

SoMuchToBits · 30/01/2009 14:30

Ooh, I'll have to try it then! I thought of you today DG, when I was in M & S eyeing up a Per Una skirt . I didn't buy it though - I bought a cardigan in Monsoon instead, because I had vouchers!

naswm · 30/01/2009 14:31

pmsl at thinking of DG and the per una skirt!!!

OP posts:
DumbledoresGirl · 30/01/2009 14:33

Ooh I could become the face of Per Una.

Come to think of it, M&S are in enough trouble as it is....

SoMuchToBits · 30/01/2009 14:42

How many Per Una skirts do you own then DG? (I don't know whether you have any Per Unas stuff, naswm, but I do remember being on a thread where everyone was being very rude about Per Una, and DG and I were the only people stupid brave enough to admit we wore some of their stuff!)

DumbledoresGirl · 30/01/2009 14:49

I don't know offhand but at least 6.

I don't often wear them though. I am usually to be found in my per una jeans and the thickest (home knitted) jumper I can find.

Right now, oh the shame of it! I am in Per Una black cords, a Per Una top complete with dangling bits and a Per Una cardigan (no dangling bits but large buttons).

I am even wearing a M&S vest, M&S bra, M&S pants, I think M&S socks and a pair of M&S black boots.

Actually, even I am blushing at the realisation that I am head to foot in M&S clothing.

SoMuchToBits · 30/01/2009 14:52

Well, if we were all like you, M & S would be in no trouble at all!

Anyway, I'm off to pick up ds from school, so I'm not ignoring you and you haven't scared me away! I'll be back later...

naswm · 31/01/2009 16:03

rofl DG at your complete Per Una outfit! I have nothing against per una, but it wouldnt be my first choice for clothing. I have some things from there, not lots though (I dont even own six skirts, let alone all from Per Una lol!). I do have a lovely red coat I bought in December though.

Anyway, this wasnt supposed to be a fashion thread!!!!

OP posts:
SoMuchToBits · 31/01/2009 17:50

Oops - sorry that was my fault! We have rather gone off topic. To get back to singing, ds is now going through his Christmas repertoire again...

DumbledoresGirl · 31/01/2009 19:19

Nah! Blow the singing. It is your thread naswm, it can be about whatever you want.

I am delighted to have amused you both re my loyalty to M&S. I did once ask MN where I could get similar clothes to those you find at PU (I rather like it, apart from its ubiquity and the fact that it is so easily recognisable) but people only came up with shops I have never heard of or which were over my price range.

You know me (well Naswm does) I loathe shopping and girly stuff. For me, it is easiest to walk in M&S and buy from PU, avoiding trailing round loads of shops. So where would you say most of your clothes come from? (Q to both of you).

SoMuchToBits · 31/01/2009 19:23

Well, don't laugh!

Apart from M & S (mostly Per Una), I would say Monsoon and Boden (but qualify that by saying I only like some of their stuff!

I am mostly a skirt sort of person with t-shirt/cardigan in summer, or long-sleevd jersey top in winter. Do sometimes wear linen trousers on cooler days in sumer though, and sometimes trousers in winter.

Now, DG. ...
Dh has fixed up so that I am now on MSN. He has been sending me messages from upstairs! So I need to know now how to get in touch with you. I'm afraid I have to go and dish up our dinner now, but will be back after we have eaten it, to await instructions!

DumbledoresGirl · 31/01/2009 19:32

I used to love Monsoon when it first came out but never found their clothes, esp dresses fitted me. I went in recently and was horrified by literally every single garment in there. That said, I am today wearing a ver old Monsoon jumper along with my PU top, PU jeans, M&S bra, M&S................well you get the picture!

Boden I don't really get. I know it is meant to be trendy and PU is meant to be mumsy, but Boden looks mumsy to me (pardon the offence!). Plus way too expensive for me at the moment.

Now re msn. How exciting! The best way would be for you to add me to your contact list. My address is [email protected]. When you add me, I will get a message saying XXX (whoever you are!) wants to add me to their list and I can either accept or decline (I will accept!) Then you will see an icon in your messenger window showing I am there and you can start a conversation with me, or I can start one with you if I see you first. I am sure naswm will want to join in too, but she won't tell you her address here as it includes her rl name.

Alternatively, you can write your address here and I can add you. Anyway, looking forward to hearing from you.

SoMuchToBits · 31/01/2009 20:13

DG, I've added you to my contacts. I can then get in touch with you on msn and give you my details for naswm. look forward to hearing from you. I'm online at some point most evenings.

DumbledoresGirl · 31/01/2009 20:33

Have added you.
