Is it good? Shall I spend £90 on tix for the three of us? (gulp!)
DS cannot be tempted by any of the 'fairy stoy' pantos or shows.

I haven't seen that production but I saw a Treasure Island last Christmas at the Old Rep in Birmingham. I took Yr 7, some of whom enjoyed it, some of whom were bored. The story line wasn't that easy to follow at times but there were some exciting moments. Bits of it really made the students jump so not for the very very young. How old is your DS?

7....

I haven't seen it either but was thinking about it - am just posting to add to my threads I'm on.

We're thinking of going to see Trace next month. I'd love to know of some cheaper silly stuff too - did you see Men of Steel at the Soho Theatre last year? That still has my two talking.

Blu · 03/01/2009 21:56

JJ AVOID Treasure Island! Deadly boring and v expensive!

We will try the Lost and Found orchestra next week, I think.

Where is Trace - I can't open that link...I'm using Firefox temprarily and there seems to be some issue with not being able to download plug-ins.

We LOVED Men of Steel, loved it, loved it, sat in the front row in plastic aprons squealing, and flinging ourselves into the experience, very nearly literally.

We are doing Lost & Found next week, Blu, Sunday I think. Can't wait.

JJ · 04/01/2009 17:13

Let us know how Lost & Found is! I was thinking about that. Thanks for letting me know about Treasure Island! It's hard to know what's going to be good, isn't it? We saw Amazonia a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to like it but just didn't. sigh.

Oops, it's Traces not Trace. We came away from Men of Steel a bit sticky and smelling vaguely of beer, eek.

Blu · 05/01/2009 17:36

Bink - can I CAT you if we decide to go on Sunday and there are still tix? We could say hello!

Blu, nothing I'd like better! Let me know if CAT works, I can't remember whether a new year should mean a new subvention.

We saw Tresure Island, DS loved it. Great fun, lots of bangs and sword fighting.

Blu · 05/01/2009 18:03

gsrtb - how old is your DS?

DS did say he liked the guns and was impressed with the swords because, apparantly, he 'thought they would be using safety swords, but they were REAL'.

Anyway I'm pleased that you did enjoy it

He is six. He also loved the pirates swinging around. I would say it does go on a bit but he has told everyone how fab it was.
