Could this be any more exquisitely fitting for this section? info

We have tickets for the matinée on Sunday 28th. Anyone else going?

Am working on this...know the composer
It will be a fabulous project I am sure of it.

Marina · 12/09/2008 11:11

Here's the production's website

SorenLorensen · 12/09/2008 11:17

I'm ever-so-slightly perturbed by the picture on the link - reminds me of "Cats"...

Touuuuuuch me, it's so easy to leaaaaaaave me
All alone with the memmmmreeeee
Of my days in the sun
If you toooooouch me you'll understand what happiness is
Look, a new day has begun.

You'll have to tell us what it's like!

Marina · 12/09/2008 11:18

Oi soren, Julian is Not Like That
how is ds1 getting on?

SixSpotBurnet · 12/09/2008 11:25

Oh Bink, you are just too efficient - was going to email you and ask if you fancied going? I might still see if they have tickets for 28th as DS1 liked Varjak Paw and DS2 would probably like it if I could persuade him to stop reading Tracey Beaker just for a little while ...

Bink · 12/09/2008 11:34

Oh do please SSB, we'd love that. It might be wise anyway to have to sit separately, so that bumptiousness of certain individuals is kept manageable.

ds disapproves of Tracy Beaker.

OP posts:
SixSpotBurnet · 12/09/2008 11:39

Well, quite, DS2 is elevating bumptiousness to something of an art form these days ...

SorenLorensen · 12/09/2008 12:07

OK, til yesterday, Marina - thanks for asking (have posted here - right down at the end, posted earlier today, you don't have to read the whole thing!)

SixSpotBurnet · 15/09/2008 22:21

Okay Bink - we'll see you there! Actually we should rendezvous somewhere nearby for drinks first if you could bear it?

Bink · 16/09/2008 21:41

Fantastic - will email you. Really looking forward to it!

Am going to this with dd1 (6) next Sunday. I worked with Akiya, who plays Varjak recently. She is such a gorgeous room lighting up sort of a human being. So quick and funny and delightful. I'm really looking forward to it and to the backstage tour she's promised us afterwards. Feeling really excited.

Toots · 12/10/2008 10:32

This was very good indeed and the lead, Akiya Henry was pretty mesmerising. Go if you're in Cardiff. It's on at the Sherman for one night only next month. Shame there's not a matinee.

Marina · 13/10/2008 23:56

We loved it too toots. Ds has just had a review published

Bink · 14/10/2008 22:26

well done Marinimus - guardian youngcritics calling, perhaps?

(Since this was originally my thread, I am allowed to hijack it to vent that dh has got us tickets for an all-Stockhausen programme event next month ... not losing his wits such as to envisage taking ds & dd, but we are thinking of taking my parents ...)

OP posts:
Marina · 15/10/2008 09:17

take iPods for yourself and your parents Bink

I'll e-mail you the review and you can see where ds and dd agree (or not)

Bink · 17/10/2008 13:04

Marina, do please email the review - would love to see.
