...suitable to illustrate a poster for a concert entitled 'Visions of the Beyond'?

It's late 19th / early 20thC English stuff (Elgar, Vaughan Williams etc), more sacred than secular.

My first thought was Blake but his paintings are a bit, well scary, so perhaps a Pre-Raphaelite maiden peering into a mirror to see the future or similar?

I have exhausted the normal sources and am a bit stumped...

Yes she probably closed them just as the portrait was being taken - annoying.

OK - these two? possibly too Christmassy as Annunciation.
