We drove up, got parked in the really quite tiny car park, wandered over to the festival hall and then had the most amazing live experience for really a very very long time. That man is a total guitar god, his voice is likevelvet and sand paper all at once-I had such a fabulous night-Thankyou Mr Thompson!

wow, isn't that funny. this week my iPod shuffle has turned up quite a few Richard Thompson tracks and I saw a poster for a gig he was doing and now I spot this thread!

saw him live several years ago when he released Rumour & Sigh. he is amazing.

Favourite track is 1962 Black Vincent but I do like Physco Street too LOL.

Saw Jeff Lang in Sydney during a lunchtime free event as part of the Olympics and he covered 1962 Black Vincent. After that I hunted down whatever RT had out on CD.

Glad to hear he's still going strong, he really is amazing.

Read about Love is practically my favourite song lyrics ever. I wish I had come too.

Paddlechick666 · 25/05/2008 09:37

iMum, thank you!

Yeah Gorka can be an acquired taste but I like him. Unfortunately that, and many others, was not in my half of the split when I broke up with my musician boyfriend.

Warren Zeavon anyone?
