Into the Hoods - suitable for a 6 yr old?

Has anybody seen Into the Hoods? I've been given 2 tickets for the matinee in half term but I know nothing about it. I would be taking my dd2 who is 6. She has seen The Snowman and Angelina Ballerina at a theatre - but I realise that this would be very different! Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Do you mean Into the Woods?? If so it's a musical by Stephen Sondheim and fantastic for adults but probably not suitable for a 6-year-old. Would confuse her fairy tales for a start!

Hi JaneHH - thanks for answering. I've googled a bit and found out that Into the Hoods is an Edinburgh fringe hit from the dance group ZooNation bringing its fresh, witty take on hip-hop storytelling to the West End. Apparently it is based on Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods but with an urban twist. One reviewer describes it as family friendly - and there are 2 seven year olds in it - but I still don't know whether to go!

oh it is into the hoods then i thought it sounded a bit hip hop

I would go then! Sounds good. Sondheim is a great basis for anything and there's so much stuff going on at the Fringe that things that are a hit are a hit for a reason! Perhaps google a little bit more, though, as "family friendly" could also mean you could take ten-year-olds... Enjoy!
