The run is ending on the 28th, I've got some free time in London this week and this has caught my eye, seems an unlikely story for a musical but I'm a scientist so it appeals. Somewhat mixed reviews though, I wondered if anyone here had seen it?

It's wonderful, a really lovely musical. I can't say how accurate it is but it definitely worth seeing. The music is excellent and the cast are fabulous

Thank you, I think I'll go for it, might not get another chance.

You should, it's beautiful storytelling and I learnt a lot, although I'm not particularly educated in that area to start with! There's a few options for v cheap seats as well

@DangerousMouse well, I went, I loved it. The reviews really were quite mixed and I could see what they meant in places but none of it detracted IMO. The singing was amazing, the story was really well told, I liked the way the stage set was used and it made its points about the oppression of women and racism towards the Polish without lecturing or patronising. I was reasonably familiar with her story having seen a dramatisation of it on TV many years ago and being a female scientist myself her work interests me anyway. I suspect the part about the radium factories wasn’t as portrayed WRT Marie herself and that Anne was fictitious. However, have you read the book The Radium Girls? This was based on what happened in factories using radium in the USA around that time and describes exactly the scenario portrayed in this musical, it is a harrowing but compelling read.
