Was Doing the Southern Freeze in the 80's?

MoreSpamThanGlam · 06/04/2008 18:51

lovethis

cyteen · 06/04/2008 19:41

Southern Freeze is awesome!

Some more from me:

Nu Shooz - I Can't Wait God, I thought this was soooooo futuristic when I was a kid - now it sounds totally 80s Still remember singing along to the 7" in our flat.

Shannon - Let The Music Play This on the other hand is still futuristic (and retro at the same time). A timeless classic.

Colonel Abrahams - Trapped This is a favourite in the cyteen household

Rah Band - Clouds Across The Moon Pure pop genius!

lol at tight fit in the jungle. I remember roller skaking 'round the house to that - literally, from kitchen to the dining room, sitting room, hall back into the kitchen......Wheeeeeee!! my boot skates were blue with red stripes and a big red stopper.

cyteen · 06/04/2008 19:51

Nice to see MadameC putting up some bonafide classics while I just bring the cheese

Hall & Oates - I Can't Go For That

Kim Wilde - Cambodia

I just love that spooky synth pop.

CrushWithEyeliner · 06/04/2008 19:52

anything by cameo - i was scarred for life by watching his leather codpiece aged 6

cyteen · 06/04/2008 19:53

LOL! It's true - Word Up is a stone cold classic, but that codpiece was terrifying.

MadameCh0let · 06/04/2008 19:57

ha ha!!
Thought of another good one. This is SO quintessentially 80s, hairbrush, backcombed hair......

cyteen · 06/04/2008 20:08

Even before I clicked I knew that was Dollar

Sad to say, we've recently rediscovered a liking for that song...apparently Trevor Horn was the power behind Dollar for a while, which probably explains how they managed to carve out a career despite both being completely rubbish.

As an aside, I've noticed a pleasing surfeit of literacy and sense among comments for 80s vids on YouTube.

MadameCh0let · 06/04/2008 20:53

You've put your finger on it. I was looking at those pages, thinking hmmmmmm, somthing looks different but what is it?! And now I've realised it was just that there were proper paragraphs, of, like, English. Not that txt pidge that the yooths speak today.

It a farking disgrace innit?

somersetmum · 06/04/2008 21:03

Zoom

Rowlers · 06/04/2008 21:14

Klaw · 06/04/2008 21:47

just had to laugh last night when one of the Annie hopefuls said she was doing a cover version of See the Day by Girls Aloud....

Sorry Love, Dee C Lee did it before, it was her OWN song, not a cover...

BTW I have a vinyl copy of That's What I Call Music in the loft still. That's right, no numbers, it's the original.

But there was never any method in my madness Absolutely the bees knees! or Dog Eat Dog or Antmusic

peanutbear · 06/04/2008 21:48
