I've booked to take dd2 aged 6. She really enjoyed "The Snowman" at Christmas, so I'm hoping that this is as good

We went to see it earlier on tour.
Pluses - charming costumes and set, recognisable characters, pretty short (half hour each side of a nice long interval), high standard of dancing, easily followed story
Minus - big one for me I'm afraid - the touring production uses recorded music
I'd sooner have had a small ensemble of live musicians tbh
Maybe at Sadlers Wells they will run to non-prerecorded stuff
Dd (4) really enjoyed it though

oh, that's interesting - useful to know

We went to see it in October and it was lovely. Agree about the music, a real orchestra would have been fab, but it did not detract from the charm of hte show at all.

Great costumes, very recognizable characters, easy to follow story, beautiful dancing, all in all a lovely show

Oh we are going to see it on Sunday! Dd doesn't know yet - she will be soooo excited.

Shame about the music though.

Angelina's Star Performance brings the magic of Angelina Ballerina to life in her first live performance on stage.

The show features a cast of eight dancers from the world renowned English National Ballet, choreography by Antony Dowson and is based on the acclaimed children's books written by Katherine Holabird and illustrated by Helen Craig.

This magical introduction to ballet for children aged 3 + is a rare treat to see, as Angelina Ballerina performs her pirouettes and grand jetés in front of a live audience.

Thanks for the top tip - I have a daughter who will be thrilled! Why don't things like this show up in a google search?!

Bellie · 16/03/2008 16:41

Have to say that this is fantastic - dd absolutely loved it and sat mesmorised for the entire show (she is only 3). It would have been even better with a real orchestra, but the ballet was wonderful.

wheelybug · 16/03/2008 16:53

Have booked to go and see this - going on saturday 5th so am pleased the code doesn't work for this date !!

DD (3) is obssessed by ballet and Angelina so am hoping she'll be able to sit through it (more likely to than DH who is also coming ).

Fingers crossed for an orchestra !
