Now I went to see Back to the Future last month and although we enjoyed it & I’m glad I saw it, it’s not a show I’d rush back to.

I mean the special effects at the end were amazing but the rest of the show was was just good.

Matilda for me. Mary Poppins looked lovely but the story was rushed. Haven’t seen Lion King though.

I personally think Wicked is meh, the story makes no sense and you’re basically just waiting for another song to come along.

I’ve watched Come From Away on Apple TV and I kept nearly crying all the way through, and then sometimes I actually cried. It’s incredible, I want to go and see it live but I’ll need tissues!

Lion King is my favourite! Wasn't that keen on Matilda, it was good as all shows are, but it wasn't amazing.
Wicked was brilliant.
Haven't seen Mary poppins x

Come From Away is incredible. It’s perfect theatre.

Having recently seen all 3 I would probably choose Matilda. Both my kids (7&11) said it was their favourite.

Think I enjoyed Mary Poppins more than my kids - I loved the nostalgic feel, loved the original songs, lots of magical moments & thought the casting for Mary Poppins & Bert was superb. DD(7) loved it, DS(11) liked it but wasn’t quite so bothered.

Matilda - Theatre is small & has a much smaller cast but was quite funny, some enjoyable songs, child actors were amazing & my kids both said they preferred it over Mary Poppins. We sat right at the front so had an amazing view which probably helped.

Lion King - DS(11) really enjoyed it. DD hasn’t seen it yet. I thought it was good (stand out performances were ‘circle of life’ & ‘they live in you’ by Rafiki).

You haven’t mentioned it but my current favourite Disney production is Frozen - it blew me away. Cast & costumes amazing, set design & special effects just wow wow wow. Not sure would appeal to 12 year old but would highly recommend.
