Lion King or Matilda?

Which would you choose for DS 8 and DD6? They like both films, but we didn't like the recent lion king remake.

As a Christmas treat, aware both are expensive for good ish seats!

Thought Matilda over-rated. Can’t comment on Lion King.

Definitely lion king. Have seen it in London a few times with different people. Always enjoy it. Also seen Matilda which was good but lion king is way more impressive.

Matilda every time....lion king has good costumes but crap acting and singing

Matilda is absolutely amazing!! The production is incredible. There is an extra layer to the story that is not in the book or (dreadful) film. It is stupendous!

The DC were 7 and 10 when we saw it. I thought it might be too young for the 10 year old, but he was transfixed by the “live”ness of it all. The orchestra, the actors, the fantastic set.

Sometime after we’d seen it, I heard arty-bigwigs on Radio 4 describe it as the best live performance they’d ever seen.

I found Lion King disappointing after all the hype I'd heard, I'd give it 6/10. Matilda was fabulous, great songs, great storyline, 9/10.

So excited to take my kids to the lion king this year I saw it yonks ago and I just remember it being stunning!

Lion King in a heartbeat. Both kids would love it.
However, if you have a child who likes Roald Dhal and is familiar with Matilda, they would also love Matilda. It is excellent, especially the choreography. We got really good seats through the lottery so perfect view.

Hated lion king, just really boring. Matilda is amazing with a decent storyline.
