Should I attempt to see Les Mis if I don't like loud noises?

I kind of know the answer to this, having done some googling and found disheartening results but I'm still hoping that someone with a similar phobia has succeeded by way of a further back seating position and maybe earplugs.
Having loved the film I have a chance to see the stage version next year when it comes to my city but I hate loud noises/gunshots/explosions,etc and know from the film that there are plenty.
I've managed to attend firework displays with earplugs in plus a woolly hat AND a hood but that's hardly theatre attire! Not to mention that I don't want to be faffing around putting them in and taking them out - would be an annoying distraction from the wonderful music.
I'm considering the upstairs circle of seats, rather than the main stage-level seating but I don't know if that will be far enough back for it to lesson the noise level enough.
Any advice welcome. Would also be nice to discover this anxiety is not as rare as it feels to me (don't know anyone else with the same phobia).

If you want to get an idea of the level of noise, the recorded version of the recent concert edition is being broadcast on Radio 2 tomorrow evening.

Thank you, I'll take a look at that, it's apparently not available until afterwards.
