I saw him in Bristol years ago. What a performer!

You have a great time, sparkler

bigspender30 · 24/08/2007 15:00

was it good then? We are going in September and staying in travelodge too! Did you go to the after show party?

sparkler · 24/08/2007 15:03

Had a fantastic night. Everything Prince played fully was absolutely amazing.
Did have two complaints though.
1 - He only played snippets of quite a few of his songs
2 - He wasn't on stage as long as we'd hoped and for as long as I hear he played for on previous performances.

He didn't come on stage until almost 9.30pm and I think in total must have been on for the maximum of an hour and a half .
Although we enjoyed our time there we couldn't help but feel extremely disappointed when we came out.

He's getting later and later. We went on 4th and he got on stage at 9 but we had heard he was on 8.30 prompt first couple of nights.
He was great I agree! Did he have that singer as a warm up? What did you think of her?

bigspender30 · 24/08/2007 15:40

thats strange playing just a bit of a song? Will still be great to see him live. Whats the 02 venue like? Did you stay in the Docklands Travelodge?

twinsetandpearls · 24/08/2007 15:41

wow, I am jealous.

twinsetandpearls · 24/08/2007 15:41

but in a nice supportive way.

Enjoy.

chipkid · 24/08/2007 15:46

howdydoody I was there on the 4th! I thought he was amazing and I danced all night!

Cammelia · 24/08/2007 15:49

I'm so gald I went to see him on the first night, I reckon the poor old thing is getting tired

Howdydoody · 24/08/2007 18:36

Where were you sat chipkid? We were in the gods - row 417 i think it was.

chipkid · 26/08/2007 12:27

howdydoody cannot remeber exactly where I sat but quite near to the stage-they were very good seats too.!

bigspender30 · 12/09/2007 13:27

am off to see the purple one tomorrow night. Anyone else seen him? Is it worth going to the after show party since we are child free for the night???

chipkid · 12/09/2007 13:30

saw him in Londodn-fantastic. As for the aftershow party-the queue to get in was horrendous so gave it a miss

myalias · 13/09/2007 08:05

Saw him last night and he was Fab!!! word of warning though don't bother getting there until 8.30. No support act and he didn't come on until 8.45 I had to leave early to get train home. Wished I had stayed longer as I had to wait an hour for the next train. Got chatting to some people who had also been and they said he played until after 11.00. Not too disappointed because I'm going again on Sunday and will be driving so will stay until the end. There were alot of bored people around us who chatted all the way through the performance. Also people up and down every 5 minutes on a beer run.

bigspender30 · 14/09/2007 20:22

went to Prince concert and aftershow party last night-it was amazing. Added bonus of Elton John turning up and giving a rendition of Long and winding road. Then an extra 2 hours of prince playing at the aftershow. What a performer!
