in Wapping last winter

  • this autumn's production, using Poe's "Masque of the Red Death" in BAC (apparently will use all of BAC's multiple performance & rehearsal spaces) is already sold out for Sept & October; & the Friday & Saturday night shows - which run on saturnalially till the small hours - are all sold out for the year. (Grr, missed those.)

There are still midweek tickets for November & December, & there may be 2008 ones released later. But don't delay!

Why isn't anyone picking up on this?
It's totally marvellous.
I need to go again - because I only managed to get backstage at the music hall. Apparently to get to be in the theatre you have to go through the fireplace

It's like one (all) of your most memorable dreams

I would love to go - have never seen them but heard amazing and Faust is always sure to be brilliant. Where's it on?
(that said, have only left ds for the evening about twice in his life so far!)

Oh sorry! - the Faust ref. is misleading - that was last year. This year is a mishmash of Poe stories amid more generalised early-19th c. gothickery.

It's a lot of fun, possibly more so than the Faust, which was quite [tries to think of less poncey word than cerebral] er, sober.

It's in the Battersea Arts Centre in south London. Here is link

Yes, sorry, realised that after I posted in excited hurry.. Poe also good - same sort of thing.. hmm, how to get to Battersea without ds.. wondering also how I can get to see Daniel Baremboim play Beethoven in Jan and Feb ..
