Not much exciting among the "known" ones

Will have to check out some of the others.

I tried to blag myself into the MMP about 7 years ago. Didn't work .

CatIsSleepy · 17/07/2007 19:48

bags I just got the Maps album-
read a review of You don't know her name (current single by them ) in guardian guide on sat and downloaded that track on strength of it...loved it...then down-loaded rest of album.

tbh am not sure about the album yet- maybe 3 good tracks in addition to the first, rest a bit samey...

have not heard of Basquiat stings or fionn regan either

CatIsSleepy · 17/07/2007 20:19

and have never heard anything by Bat for Lashes, Young Knives or new Young Pony Club.

any good?

MegaLegilimens · 17/07/2007 20:32

Bat for lashes This one reminds me of St Etienne

MegaLegilimens · 17/07/2007 20:33

Dizee I love this

MegaLegilimens · 17/07/2007 20:37

you must have heard this one Young Knives

CatIsSleepy · 17/07/2007 20:41

no but it's quite funny

MegaLegilimens · 17/07/2007 20:43

recognise this from a telly ad

MegaLegilimens · 17/07/2007 20:45

I am a secret Zane Lowe fan - Radio 1 at 7 week nights. I always have it on after an evening Sainsury's jaunt so despite being a middle aged mother of four I am scarily up to date on new music LOL

oliveoil · 17/07/2007 20:45

I saw Bat for Lashes on the Glastonbury coverage

tis ok, not really my cup of tea

very pretty singer

I like Amy Winehouse out of that lot, or Dizzee Rascal

JoolsToo · 17/07/2007 20:46

only Amy Winehouse's name I recognise out of that lot

CatIsSleepy · 17/07/2007 20:47

oh I think i've heard that icecream song on the radio...like it. reminds me of something else (she said vaguely...)

UnquietDad · 19/07/2007 11:12

I'd take a punt on Bat for Lashes - cool and different.

bagsundereyes · 19/07/2007 11:57

cat - does it remind you of Money, by the Flying Lizards?

though it breaks my indie-kid-grown-up heart to say it, my favourite on this list is amy winehouse. she irritates me intensely as a person, but Back to Black is amazing.

looking forward to seeing her next weekend - supporting Arctic Monkeys .
