I know it's naff, but I want to set up a drama group

I was a professional actor before DS - have only just let my Equity sub go, not that it had any meaning today anyway..but I think I'd like to set up a group, just am-dram. locally. Does anyone know what I need to do, how to form a committee, etc?

MT - I am not sure I know what you do for an am dram thing - just advertise and meet at someones houee to start with I guess - see if you agree on hte sorts of stuff you want to do - then find a venue - sorry can't be more helpful than that as don't really get involovred in am dram - you may find it frustrating -

a friend is doing a new play by a local writer - all am dram stuff and he is loveing it - perhpas focus on what you want out of it?

I think you'd need to advertise the setting up of an amdram committee first, then once you've selected one, decide on a production/venue etc and advertise auditions.
My home town has a fairly big organisation and they seem to have it pretty sussed.
I used to be involved until I went to uni but would love to get back into it at some point, but perhaps producing/directing. They only do plays and pantos but it's good fun.
