Clever MN'ers.......when did Mr D'oyly Carte live and die??????

I know it sounds like an odd question - but it seems to be the only way I've got any chance of dating one of my pieces of music that's currently listed on ebay and someone wants to know if I know when it was published!

. On the bottom of the front page it says that "Applications for the right of performing the above Opera must be made to "Mr. D'oyly Carte" Savoy Theatre, London"......so obviously he was still alive when it was published.

Bit more complicated than that I'm afraid. When Richard Doyly Carte died in 1901 the company passed to his wife then when she died to his son.

Copyright expired in 1961 so it was definately published before then.
