I know the 'purists' amongst you will be shocked, but . . . . . . .

. . . . I took DD to see 'Swan Lake on Ice' at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff yesterday pm.

And it was bl**dy wonderful.

The music, the costumes, the scenery, not to mention the skating itself - absolutely gorgeous. Actually felt tearful when the swans first came in - that wonderful oboe solo!!!!

And DD (5) loved it too!

And the Millennium Centre is amazing!

Sounds fab. We've taken DD to see Snow White on Ice, and erm, something else on Ice that I can't remember right now. She loved it, and so did I. Was it the Russian Ice Stars, or whatever they're called? Amazing tricks they do.

In fact I think iceskating is a natural development of the form in this instance (makes note for future MA thesis)...

Took dd to see "Disney Princesses on ICe pre-Christmas. Now, that WAS awful...

Sounds great! DD would love it. Moght have to look out for this.

Took DD to see her first proper ballet in November/December (Nutcracker) and that was really good, but rather long!

We also went to see Disney Princesses on Ice just before Christmas, but we loved it. DD was enthralled the whole time and thought it was magical. Not heard of any complaints about it before - everyone we know of who went to see it enjoyed it too.

Pablo - my friend's dh was really shocked - thought it was terrible to want to see a company perform this on ice, when really I should go and see the real ballet.

But then this was someone who willingly sat through the entire Ring Cycle recently - now don't understand that at all!!!
