book recommendations for kids - any good websites?

Apologies, I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but I can't get the b*dy search function to work...

I need to buy many books for all my cousins kids this christmas, varying in age between 4 and 16. Does anyone know of a good website that has reviews and recommendations that I could crib from before heading down to my local Waterstones?

I guess Amazon is the obvious one.

Do you use The Book People or Red House Books . The always have fantastic deals. I've bought too much yet again.

Otherwise for reviews I use the Time and Guardian newspaper websites.

Yeah, I've already done an order with the Book People (brilliant value). The only problem with Amazon is that their age groupings are very broad, and I could really do with something a bit more... specific... if you see what I mean. I also don't want to go with any of the obvious choices, for fear that they'll already have them on the shelf at home.

Good idea with the newspaper websites, I'll have a look there.
