Book: The Book Thief by Markus Zsuzak (sp?) or Memoirs of a Geisha (loved this...can't remember the authors name though!)

Film: Letters to Juliet (for the romantic in you) or Independence Day (a bit of alien action) or Slumdog Millionaire (just because)

Album: The Seldom Seen Kid by Elbow or Word Gets Around by Stereophonics

Book - Love In The Time of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Album - 'Up The Bracket' - The Libertines

Book(s) - I can't get it down to one, I'm afraid . Oblivion: Stories by David Foster Wallace; Money by Martin Amis; Thud by Terry Pratchett.

Film(s) - Jesus Christ Superstar 2000 (very different from the other versions) and Fargo.

Album - I don't have a favourite. AB3 by Alter Bridge, Songbird by Eva Cassidy, Jailbreak by Thin Lizzy, and Different Class by Pulp are all albums I'd recommend, though!

Hard to narrow down to just one for each but here are my recs:
