Janeeyre, That's who is was, Argent! Never realised.

SconeRhymesWithGone · 18/12/2013 20:51

A peanut is not a nut; it is a legume.

Golddigger · 18/12/2013 21:06

Not sure that you are right there Scone. Pretty sure people get tested for nut allergies for peanuts.
Off to google that actually, as I would hate for someone with a nut allergy to still be given peanuts.

Golddigger · 18/12/2013 21:08

Googled it.
You are quite right. It is a legume.
But lots of people do get allergic reactions to them.

BalloonSlayer · 18/12/2013 21:14

If you have a nut allergy there is a differentiation between "ground nuts" and "tree nuts." Peanuts are known as "groundnuts" in quite a few countries.

PORTlyBLACKSANDyClaws · 18/12/2013 21:18

BalloonSlayer - i can imagine the IABU now.

IABU - 40 of them ... 40!!! And only three presents between them for my PFB

YABU - Gold is quite pricey you know. I know because i've hocked some recently to a bloke in a kiosk in Telford town centre.

YABU - You sound quite entitled (son of God indeed) - Frankincense is from the bark of rare trees and a naice quality present.

YABU - Who wouldn't want Olly Mhrrs for Christmas

I have one prompted by another thread (but repeating because it's not well known): you cannot have a 'family coat of arms' or a 'family crest' for your surname. Coats of arms are granted to one individual, and after that, you inherit them in a direct line with males before females.

You can 'buy' crests/coats of arms online and you can also pay to have online sites tell you your 'family arms' or the 'crest' belonging to your surname, but they are a con.

Also, the coat of arms of England used to be the leopards of England quartered with the lilies of France (which England used to show they owned territories in France). This annoyed the French king so much he change his coat of arms ... but the English king just shrugged and quartered his arms with the new French coat. Petty? Never!

Looksgood I'm old enough to remember the original and didn't realise Kiss had done a cover
Great song!

This would be a great thread for the poster who was looking for help to compile a Christmas Quiz!

Breweries sell the foam off the top of their fermenting beer for making marmite.

Golddigger · 18/12/2013 21:59

True octopus.
And like peanuts, people are allergic to almonds.

TotemPole · 18/12/2013 22:06
