Should you be thinking of going:

  • for a hot sunny matinee insist on seats near the front on the left hand side, where there's lots of tree shade. Or bag a spot on the grassy bank on the left. Bring stuff to nibble during the speeches about love.
  • the Midsummer Night's Dream fairies are a bit grown-up and disappointing (bald & dressed in monochrome tatters: as dd said, Really they're a bit more like spirits aren't they) but the Rude Mechanicals are lovely, especially the performance of their interlude, which is beautifully hammed. (Though, they have one of them stuttering to be funny, which isn't on, but that's being picky.) Also Theseus's gormlessness rather well brought out.
