No music board so I'll put it on here. It's very good - very much looking forward to the next album.

I heard one track this morning on the radio
I liked it until I heard who it was by and pictured Thom York singing, I really MUST try to stop being so dreadfully superficial

\link{http://www.ateaseweb.com/discography/newalbum/\This} might be interesting.

Here is an excerpt:
In March Thom & Colin talk to NME (published in April) about the new album: Thom: “I got hold of this computer software where you can do town planning,” he explains. “You can do this thing where you can draw trees and you have nice little men on bicycles, and landscapes and towns and you just build up a town like Sim City or something. That’s what I’m writing about. It’s like that “No Town” nightmare situation thing. We had this phrase kicking about for ages, “New Suburbian”. It’s like a made-up word, but that really sums up what I’m writing about at the moment I think. It’s about that anonymous fear thing, sitting in traffic, thinking ‘I’m sure I’m supposed to be doing something else’. Interestingly enough, it’s similar to OK Computer in a way. It’s much more terrifying. But OK Computer was terrifying too.”

Yes, The Eraser is out next month - it's just Thom though, isn't it?

Monkeytrousers sorry if I am being dim but whats the mod you refer to? Yes Eraser is jus Thom - would really like to hear it & see how different it is to Radiohead!

monkeytrousers · 12/06/2006 20:03

The computer programe he's refering to in that quote - sorry. It sound like a 'mod' if you can build your own stuff. It's just short of modify in geeky pc speak. Smile

short for modify

OP posts:
monkeytrousers · 12/06/2006 21:15

geeky pc speak is cool with me as long as you are happy to translate! :) I like the idea of the comp. program as well, its a thrill thinking of making a whole world - must be a god complex!
