Is anyone going to see the Damien Hirsts at Tate Modern?

I was going to take the DC's (5 & 3) in May. I figure they're thrilled when they see a dead mouse on the path so a dead shark will be the highlight of their year.

Obviously I don't anticipate being able to dawdle and take in the art for very long with the dc's in tow but it'll make a change to the local park. Someone I've never made it to Tate Modern before so I'm rather looking forward to finally getting there.

AFAIK the skull is only there for the first couple of months. Although it might be too busy for the dc's to see that part.

I went the other day. It was fantastic. The butterfly room was amazing, although youre not allowed to touch them which might be difficult for a 3 year old.

oooh, thank you for replying! Thanks

I am geared up for having DD on reins and will make a very swift exit if they muck about, I like doing things with them but don't drag it out if they are being a handful. I'd rather be there for 10 mins than not go at all. We can wander round the rest of the Tate anyway.

The only bit that I'm not sure about is the cows head, is it decomposing in the box and is it easy to avoid? I don't think it would scare the children but I don't want it too in their faces IYSWIM.

Is the Skull in a room where you have to queue? We'll avoid that part if it is.

is that live butterflies or the pictures with the dead ones stuck to them?

We've done live butterflies in greenhouses before though, no harm done Smile.

The Butterfly exhibition was BEAUTIFUL! although comparing them to the dead ones did make me feel a little sad! I can also recommend Hockney - His exhibition was also wonderful.
