Poetry about chronic skin conditions

Not sure if we have a poetry topic, couldn't find it, so here I am
Am trying to tie the arts to the 'science' of medicine.
Am doing some small group teaching at the moment and at the end I like to get them to do some reading, maybe some poetry or an extract from a novel, which reflects the clinical material we have covered earlier.
We will be doing chronic skin conditions next week and am a little stuck
I have found John Updike's 'At war with my skin' but cannot find the whole text so might have to extract from the library.
Does anyone else have any other suggestions?
Grateful thanks

um The singing Detective?

Also Jean Paul Marat had a skin complaint. Maybe some quotes from him. Although I think he wrote more about the French Revolution than his skin problem but there's a famous painting of him murdered in his bath iirc.

Sorry that's prob not much helpConfused
