Just listened to this program, stunning, if you missed it, see if it is on Listen Again. What a treat!

I listened to it while cleaning a very grubby kitchen. Dh thought I had finaly flipped as I was sobbing my heart out to the 'Recordate'

And the last movement, Fuck me, it is amazing. If there is a heaven then those sopranos have drilled a way in for little Mozart!

Honestly it was a real treat.

All time fav bit of choral music still Pergolesi's Stabat Mater though. Immaculate.

PPH, I once listened to the Stabat Mater in the car.....big mistake, I was crying like a maniac and I'm sure that isn't safe

pph we are singing Pergolesi Stabat Mater in March (with Vivaldi's Gloria), I am very excited
OK I shall go and listen again [humble emoticon]
I love BAch's Mass in B minor, and the St John Passion though I have never sung either of them sadly. I also love Poulenc's Gloria

God I bellow along to the Stabat Mater in the car, with a huge lump in my throat, always end up with a sore throat after insisting on singing along with the bass line in places

yes and I am singing it with someone who is Very Good (we have sung together before), which makes it lots easier. I just hang on her coat tails
