Fuck me, I missed it!

She sounded so much better yesterday!

Weatherwax · 16/12/2005 19:30

I would have just missed tonights episode How How ... [Sad]. After last night I thought she'd get her holiday before they did this!

fisiltoe · 16/12/2005 19:32

It was a real shock. And really sad. And so close to Christmas.

They can't do this to me. I want to be happy!

jangly · 16/12/2005 19:33

Fancy the beeb doing it on a Friday, when it doesn't get a lunchtime repeat. I listen lunchtimes so I've missed it. Never get round to doing listen again.

sobernoel · 16/12/2005 19:33

She went upstairs for a nap and Mike went out to buy poinsettias. He came back with tickets for a cruise and told Brenda he couldn't wait to tell Betty and he went up but couldn't wake her up. They called for an ambulance but too late

There have been several moments like this in my Archers listening history. When I've been totally taken aback by an event I had no idea was about to happen. I'm glad the tabloids don't run spoilers for radio (altho' if enough people cared they probably would)

Front Row occassionally do spoilers.

They did for the shower scene and again for Sid and Cathy's two-hander

sobernoel · 16/12/2005 19:36

fnar fnar!

jangly, you'll have to catch the omnibus on Sunday this time.

I couldn't believe it. Poor old Betty (well, not so old, prob same age as me )

jangly · 16/12/2005 19:40

Oh yes! forgot Sunday morning. Thanks Janh.

bighug · 16/12/2005 19:53

I wasn't properly listening and then just grasped that she had died! Such a shock. Can someone tell me what she died of though? I have been out too much this week to be properly up-to-date plot wise. Thanks.

merrycompo · 16/12/2005 19:55

bit of a spoiler for those who listen on Sundays isn't it?

Janh · 16/12/2005 19:59

She had a heart attack one day this week, bighug - Mike found her outside on the ground barely able to speak, called ambulance etc - she had clot-busting wonder-drug injection and was sent home eventually.

Very sweet scene last night where they cuddled in bed and both said how happy they were to be together. Poor old Moike.

Blandmum · 16/12/2005 20:02

i hpe he doesn't have another nervous break down

looking on the bright side there is one less peson in the queue for the bathroom for hailey to wait for!

kalexcelsis · 16/12/2005 20:09

So so sad

bighug · 16/12/2005 20:11

Thanks Janh, how sad though. She can't have been very old at all. in fact just checked in my Whos who in the Archers book - she was 55.

jangly · 16/12/2005 20:31

OMG. Now Nana Moon's died on Eastenders! Pass the prozac please, someone.

Janh · 16/12/2005 20:32

lol at the bathroom queue, mb. On the Archers website they are all banging on about Emma having a job now (it's an ill wind etc )

Janh · 17/12/2005 11:19

All is revealed - the actress wanted to go herself (so that's OK then!) Telegraph today

Enideepmidwinter · 17/12/2005 11:39
