Can I put incidents on a report without giving the abusers name?

Hi,
Really needing to build up my case and report things onto my file to back myself up against my ex. He's abused me for years and really thinks he's above the law.

I am too scared to report him because he's previously said he would shoot my family if I went to the police about him. Obviously this has put fear into me. Could I report things with the police but not give a name so that it is on my file?

There is no harm in keeping a diary and also no harm in keeping evidence - texts, emails etc

Personally if someone threatened to shoot my family I would report them to the police. I know you say you are living in fear but really it’s not your call to make as to whether he will do it.

If you were my daughter and someone had threatened my life I’d expect to be given the option but f what action I would take

I'd suggest talking to women's aid as a first step. They can help you make sense of your options as well as creating a record of you seeking support for domestic abuse
