I entered this a few years ago, didn't get anywhere. We can still motivate you even if no-one else is doing it

Please do - i am getting a bit fed up with no 'creative' types around me. No writers circle here, altho there may be one starting. I did finish a book last year, have a cple of agents ask for the whole thing, (v exciting, but no go in the end) but it's just a bit hard to keep going! I am always a bit about competitions?

right, I'm just going to keep wittering on about it, interrupting all the conversations about p and t spaces, mils, etc until I find someone who's doing it to. Like a mad old lady at a bus stop.

iirc you write a children's book and submit the whole book.
must weed out all those non-finishers, but I think they still get 10s of thousands of entries.

There was something I was writing but I lost heart. Because it was crap.
Then this morning on a long walk I was ambushed by one of the minor characters who pointed out that actually he was in charge and would make a far better book of it if I let him have a go
oddly the switch would make it far more ChickenHousey than the previous version, too.
I am supposed to be writing my academic book but....

Ooooh seth i have just found this thread again, having dug out the comp again. Have you decided to enter it? The only thing bugging me is that you can't have published a book anywhere, and I did self publish one copy of a book i wrote specially for dd; worried this might technically class as publish? (Only one copy, didn't offer for sale etc)
