Is it legit?

Yes, I’ve done their 100-word fiction challenge before.

Thank you. There’s a 48 hour 1000 word one starting tomorrow. Hoping that the cost will stop me procrastinating!

I’ve done 100 word one before, I didn’t get very far, but it was legit and kind of fun.

I’m doing the flash fiction one this weekend. Gutted I got Romance as a genre, it’s not something I read so am not familiar with it as a style.

And it’s definitely legit, I’ve done it a few times. The feedback they give is pretty thorough, which offsets the pain of the cost a bit.

I’ve got Thriller. No idea where to start with that!

Why do you take part? I had a quick look and it’s great that it’s free to enter, but also there is no prize money or feedback. And if your story is printed you lose the chance to publish it elsewhere.

@CurlewKate did you manage to finish your story? I ended up adapting an old story of mine - changed the location and turned it into a romance. It’s still not very romantic but probably better than I would have done trying to write a straightforward romance from scratch.

I dread the day I get ‘political satire’ as a genre, I don’t think I could even enter a story.

@CurlewKate oh shame! I must admit I was pretty close to not doing mine, the prompts and genre weren’t very inspiring to me at all. There’s a 500 word one in a couple of months, I’ll maybe do that one as well, it’s more manageable than 1000 words.
