Anyone interested in creating/joining a writing accountability hub online?

I'm new to the Creative Writing boards here but not new to MN or to writing. I have a real problem committing to sitting down and making time for writing. There's no excuse. I have plenty of time but just find other stuff to do instead, from housework, freelance work to wasting time on MN!

I was wondering if there are any other writers who'd like to join together online for a writers hub at a set time each week. Just sign in to something like Zoom or Google Meet and work together quietly for a couple of hours, just to have some accountability.

I was thinking maybe Monday morning to kick start the week and maybe one evening a week too.

Would anyone be interested in this or does anyone know of an existing online hub I could join?

I wasn't thinking of a writer's group - no feedback or sharing work - just sign in with your coffee and laptop and stick to it for a couple of hours. Maybe set a goal at the start of the session - write 500 words or draft a scene or edit a chapter etc and at the end review how we did.

Thank you.

Just signed up too! It looks ideal.

I’ll see you all there.

Thanks, that's brilliant as more than one time of day available. I will see you there, too.

I thought you could join the Writer’s Hour at LWS for free?

Write magic do zoom sprints every day at multiple times (depending on who is available to run them) - it's advertised on the facebook group and is free. I also love the LWS zoom hour.

Yes you can. After two weeks they ask you sign up at £9 a month but if you can't afford it or don't want to pay, you can ask for a code and get free access, no question asked. Personally, I think £9 a month isn't a lot to ask, for them to have 2 facilitators and a well run group 22 times a week! It must cost them a fair bit to run and organise it.

I love that LWS is free for everyone who can’t afford it.

When I sketch a rough plan the night before I average around 1000 words in the morning session. Thanks so much for starting this thread OP!

I've tried 3 LWS sessions this week, and doing well with word count. I may actually finish my book before the end of the year (first draft)! Thanks so much for this post, I'd never have known about it otherwise!!! Happy writing everyone!

I’ve joined the Writer’s Hour many times and never been asked to pay! I wonder if things have changed since I first joined…although the website does say it’s free.
