Has anyone written a young children’s book?

I’m thinking along the lines of a picture book with short story. This is something I’ve been trying to work on but I just become stuck.
I have so many ideas but it’s not quite coming out the way I want.

Any tips please?

Make sure you read out loud and you don't stumble on words.

The most popular children's books tend to have rhyme and repetition and roll of the tongue of the person reading. Working with 3/4yo you need a good character, a simple plot that leads somewhere. Refrains the children can pick up are always good too.

Stories such as Gruffalo and Bear hunt and popular for a reason. Children still absolutely love fairy tales too so look at the story structure of those - usually use three of something (pigs, goats, bears etc) or a big bad wolf or other bad character.
