Hi everyone

Hope it's ok to post in this topic. I thought it would be a good place to ask as keen readers often have a great way with words!

So I live in Australia and a well known organisation is offering grants up to $20,000 for product ideas within the hospitality industry. I've had this idea rattling around the back of my head for years so thought I'd kick myself if I didn't apply.

It's a long application and I've had to record a 5 minute video explaining my idea. Problem is, I still don't have a name for it.

The product is essentially flavour enhancing drops that would come in bottles much like bitters. I envisage they would be used mostly for vodka or gin and soda drinks Just one or two drops and the flavour is transformed. I won't go into too much details as I've spent today writing almost 4000 words on it! But I really need hep thinking of a name.
Originally I was going to go with Spirit Drops but realised that won't look too good if being used in a non-alcoholic drink of a mocktail.
Fruit Drops sounds too plain. Essence Drops sounds like a shampoo.

I thought maybe simply "A drop of flavour" so the bottle would just say "A drop of apple" "A drop of raspberry" so when ordering drink you'd simply ask for "a vodka soda with a drop of apple"

Any input would be amazing! I have 5 hours to submit my idea and after weeks I'm still not set on a name. Thanks in advance.

Who are your target market?

briebuiltthiscity · 27/09/2020 11:54

You could go down a fun route and call them flavour droppings
Apple droppings, raspberry droppings etc - it is Oz after all.

briebuiltthiscity · 27/09/2020 11:55

Or as it’s for cocktails - cock drops Wink

Sorry

VampireBill · 27/09/2020 11:58

I think they're called 'flavour enhancer' or 'drink mix' in the US.

VampireBill · 27/09/2020 12:01

Sorry, completely missed the point.

briebuiltthiscity · 27/09/2020 12:06

On a more serious note
What about words like
“Dash (a dash of)
“Splash”
“Drips”

So - splashes, fruit splash, fruit dash etc.

I might be over-thinking but if the resulting product would be intended to be commercialised then it might favour a name that could be trademarked. Hence not something purely descriptive like 'drop of..'.

Good luck.
