Hello, I am being driven mad by a poem I remember from school. I think it is by a poet with initials rather than a full name (WH Auden - something like that) and it's a ballad detailing a couple who want to kill one another, or one wants to kill the other one. Its darkly comic, very long and pacy. I think it's called 'The Ballad of and ' with the names of the couple (like George and Mildred or Henry and Maude). Does this sound familiar to anyone? I think it's 20th century, first half. Thanks in advance!
