I've been on here asking a few questions about agents recently, and sent my recently finished novel to ten agents about two/three weeks ago.
There was complete silence since then but I've just received my first reply and it's a manuscript request!
Sorry, just wanted to tell some people who understand that this is exciting! (I also realise that the chances of being signed are v low!)

Should have said - I sent to 10. So not heard from 7 but it’s early days I think.

Any news, Newgirls?

Joining your thread, a bit late to the party! I've submitted my novel to 7 agents within the last 3-4 weeks and have had 3 rejections, but each one with v positive comments, 'good premise for a story', 'emotional heft' all 3 saying they like my writing/voice and one saying this particular story wasn't for her but please could I send my next novel. Should I feel encouraged or are they just brush offs? I know it's FAR too early to feel dejected, but it's hard not to.
